This ministry identifies the needs of those less fortunate by working with several social service agencies. Shortly before Thanksgiving, cards are prepared for placement on a “giving tree” in the front of the church. Parishioners are encouraged to take these cards and return a gift card based on the need identified on the card (i.e. warm coat for a 4-year-old girl, boys toy for a 7-year-old ). These gifts are then organized and delivered to the social service agencies for distribution into the community. This is an annual event throughout Advent during which volunteers are needed to help create the gift tags, set up the gift trees in the church, sort the gifts, deliver them and sometimes shop.
